The Monastery Complex, also known as the Sacred Precinct, is located on the edge of Ostrov’s historic centre, next to the Chateau Park. The Baroque complex offers venues for cultural and social events, concerts and wedding ceremonies.
Its largest space is the secularised early Baroque Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, dating from the 17th century. With a capacity of up to 100 people and good acoustics, it is particularly suitable for concerts, ceremonial gatherings and wedding ceremonies. The more intimate Einsiedeln Chapel accommodates 20 people.
The accompanying programme may include the 360-degree video mapping installation Carpe diem – Memento mori in St Anne’s Chapel. Combining light, sound and Baroque architecture, the audiovisual experience uses the four seasons to explore the themes of time, life and transience.
