A medieval castle on a prominent rocky promontory, surrounded on three sides by the Ohře River, is at the heart of the picturesque town of Loket near Karlovy Vary. Many called the fortified town of Loket with its castle the "key to the Kingdom of Bohemia." Loket Castle is steeped in history, and fans of mysterious stories and legends will find it fascinating.
The hall on the first floor of the building houses one of the castle’s treasures: wall paintings from the early 15th century. On the floor of the eastern wing of the castle is a ceremonial hall, frequently used for musical and theatrical events, as well as medieval and wedding feasts. A staircase from the hall leads down to the ceremonial room adorned with a large 17th-century fresco. Both the ceremonial hall and the room are available for rental.
